“How can my tags be printed and what’s best?“

Mike M. - Hamilton, Waikato

What’s LazaFX?

Allflex laser marking overprinted with pitch black ink. The mark is then coated by a shiny non stick Optimark surface to provide a dark and permanent mark.

Allflex LazaFX with Optimark!

LazaFX

Laser marking overprinted with pitch black ink. The mark is then coated by a shiny non stick Optimark surface.
Exclusively available from Allflex. When ordering tags choose Laza Black which is now offered on most sizes.

Pure Blac

UV Inkjet marking in pure black ink. The surface is the heat treated to create to resist dirt and UV light.

Exclusively available from Z Tags. When ordering tags choose the Pure Black option.

Laser Marking

A Laser beam moves across the tag and heats a doped additive in the plastic which changes colour to provide a long term, UV resistant
mark below the tag surface.
Offers flexible layouts and less abrasion. Available from all tag makers.

Laser White

Black tags and other dark colours need a contrasting mark. Where the doped additive in the plastic has been treated it is possible for a laser mark to produce a white/cream/grey contrasting mark.

Available from most leading tag makers.

Hot Foil Stamping

Hot Foil stamping uses heated metal characters in a pneumatic press which under several tonnes press onto a black or white foil and weld a pigment into the surface of the tag.

Deep and dark this is mostly available from Leader Tags. Choose Hot Foil option.

Self Marking

Sometimes it’s just easier to buy blank tags and mark yourself. Choose marker pens carefully though as they’re not all the same. Good tag pens have a valve action, special ink to etch the surface and should be applied with at least two coats of ink.

Common Questions

Can I have custom fonts and type face?

With laser marking it’s now possible to accommodate almost any font style and size. Keep in mind that the more stylised the font, the harder it is to read.

Also the more characters the smaller they will be due to space limitations. It’s easy to ask for a proof, simply email a sketch or photo of what you want plus the approx size and colour of tag, we’ll arrange for a free proof. Email link HERE

Can I have a custom logo, my brand or symbol printed above the numbers on my tags?

These days it’s very easy to custom print your tags to enhance your brand and tell people more about your business. usually you should supply a black and white image, preferably an EPS or SVG file. It’s easy to convert your own images at Convertio.co, click HERE.

But don’t stress, if it’s all to complicated 4Tags offer a free design assistance service. Simply send in your image and sketch how you’d like it, we’ll convert it into an EPS to allow tag makers to set up and print. Email link HERE

Can tags for our school, function, wedding or promotion have individual names?

Yes. Event and promotion tags are easy to organise and short runs/custom printing of a list of names can be accommodated. Check out our range of Special Tags HERE.

We usually ask for the list of names in an XLS or CSV file. From there once your logo and design is agreed we can print a run of tags as low as 10.

It’s worth remembering that while our artwork assistance services are free, many tag makers will have a small one-time set-up fee to allow them to program their machines. The next time you order the same tags there is no logo set-up fee.

Whatever the type and style of printing you need we’re here to advise on the best possible solution and guide you through the process to save time and money.
